Physiotherapy and rehabilitation aims to improve movement and physical function after injury, surgery or illness, and to help prevent future problems. It can also support flexibility, strength and independence in everyday life for people of all ages. Programmes are designed for orthopaedic, neurological and sports-related conditions as well as chronic pain.
In Turkey, physical medicine and rehabilitation is a separate medical specialty, so physician specialists and physiotherapists work together on each patient's programme. After an initial assessment, sessions are planned with clear goals and adjusted according to progress over the course of treatment.
