Pediatric endocrinology focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of hormonal imbalances in children and adolescents. These conditions can affect the thyroid, adrenal glands, pancreas and reproductive organs, and they may be present at birth or develop later during childhood. Specialists complete five years of pediatric training and three further years in pediatric endocrinology.
