Pediatric hematology and oncology covers the diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders and cancers in children. The two fields are combined because many childhood blood diseases and cancers are closely connected. Specialists complete pediatric training and then three additional years in hematology and oncology. Close monitoring during and after treatment helps the care team respond quickly to any change in the child's condition.

Treatment is planned by a multidisciplinary team and adapted to each child's age, diagnosis and overall health. Emotional support for the child and family is part of the care. Families travelling to Turkey are guided through the treatment calendar, hospital stays and follow-up visits.
